WOW,i agree here..i look back at the 80's as a time that's a perfect example of freedom.the 21st century went beyond freedom into jeopardy imo.
yeah in the 80's there were still certain words one couldn't say over tv or radio.broadcast censorship was still in large AT large but not as tight as it was in the 70's//but was that such a bad thing? look at 2012 and lool at what enforcing our rights to free speech has caused and cost us as a society.has it really been that great of a deal? of course it's not just freedom of speech and expression that has created strong ripples, there's more//but..ito live in a country that's so free that my privacy is intruded upon every day just because people have the right to perform that intrusion upon me//that's too free//that's the direction however that this country(usa) has gone.

That's a very good question.
Well, for me, freedom is the quintessential expression of the soul - so staying in fairly frequent contact with the concept of freedom is staying in contact with the soul. And exercising freedom is actively expressing the soul. And resting in a sense of freedom is living in soul. And questioning, pondering, doubting and reflecting on the concept of freedom is getting to know the soul better. And talking about, sharing or even just wishing for other people to have freedom is the ultimate well-sishing; wishing for other people to know themselves at soul level.
Freedom and soul is intimately, and i suspect inseperably, linked...and who would want to live without a soul?

So if i should really sum that up into a childish sound-bite, as per your request, lol, how about:
The human spirit/soul is free, and by nursing our sense of freedom we are nursing everything that is human :) A person without a soul is called a zombie. So the choice is between living as a human, or as a zombie.
Something like that :)

Luckily most children ARE expressions of freedom so have an innate understanding of these things. Probably, we should be studying them to understand more about the human spirit, before it is corrupted :)

I'm not a christian, but i believe jesus said something universally profound when he said Unless you become like children you will not be able to enter the domain of the divine/connect with your soul. I think in the bible the domain of spirit/soul is referred to as the kingdom of heaven, but even so, the meaning is fairly clear.

Returning to innocense - a childlike state - is no easy task for the jaded, weary, nihilistic etc person that has woken up to the corruption of the world, and perhaps, the damage done to his own life and mind. It's a challenge to free ourselves and become "innocent" spirits again. But i'm sure it can be done. + What other fight could possibly be more worthy that the fight for our soul?

Best wishes for 2011 - Freedom, love, fighting spirit and truth vibrations for everyone!
